Yongsheng started in 1986 as a bias tyre producer. Tyrepress reported in 2007 that it set up Shandong Santai Rubber Co., Ltd in 2003 to make radial tyres. Output started at 600,000 units a year. The same report gave planned capacity of 10 million passenger and light truck radials and 1.2 million truck and bus radials a year.
