About Maxtrek

Zhaoqing Junhong Co., Ltd was established in 2006 in Guangdong, a province with few tyre makers compared with Shandong. European Rubber Journal reported in 2019 that the company had 1,000 employees and annual capacity of more than 6 million tyres. A Malaysian government delegation that toured the Zhaoqing factory in August 2017 was given a figure of 7 million units a year on a 130 acre site.

Junhong held a groundbreaking ceremony on 15 June 2019 for a plant in the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park in Pahang, run by Maxtrek Tyre Manufacturing Malaysia Sdn Bhd. Tyrepress put the site at 121.4 hectares. The designed capacity was 6 million passenger car and light truck tyres plus 500,000 truck and bus tyres a year, which would be the first truck tyre output under the Maxtrek name.
