About Kabat

Kabat started in 1983 in a 21 square metre workshop in Budzyn. It added passenger car retreading in 1985 and a 400 square metre rubber products workshop in 1987. Inner tubes became the core business in 1989. The main Budzyn factory opened in 1995. In early 2009 the company raised capacity by 60 percent after buying equipment from Goodyear-Debica.

In 2012 Kabat acquired a former Stomil retreading operation at Owinska, north of Poznan, which traded as ATK-Retreads Polska. Tyrepress reported in 2014 that the group made seven million inner tubes and 15,000 tonnes of rubber compound a year, with a 2013 turnover of 42 million euros, 80 percent from exports. It also reported a 5.5 million euro investment in agricultural tyre production.

In 2022 Tyrepress described a 70,000 square metre Budzyn site mixing about 200 tonnes of rubber a day. Roughly 70 tonnes went into inner tubes, flaps and o-rings and 40 tonnes into pneumatic and solid tyres. The rest was sold as compound to other European tyre makers.

Sourcing Kabat from China

Kabat tyres and tubes ship from Budzyn in western Poland, so they are European-origin goods and not a Chinese export line. Retreaded truck and trailer tyres come from the group plant near Poznan.
