Tyrepress reports that Dongying Fangxing Rubber was established in 2000 in Guangrao County. It began with off-the-road tyres in 2003, started truck and bus radials in 2009 and opened its passenger car radial line in 2015. That last step is what made a car tyre brand such as Opals possible. In 2016 the site covered 600,000 square metres and employed more than 2,000 people, 200 of them technical staff.
At the Guangrao Tyre Show in May 2024 the company put its yearly capacity at 3 million truck radials and 3 million car radials. It announced a plan to raise this to 5 million and 6 million. Fangxing named eight brands at that show, with Himalaya as its first-tier label and Opals listed next. Fangxing has held a US trademark registration for the Opals name since a filing in December 2015 and filed again in July 2023.
Passenger car (PCR). The FH666 covers small and compact cars in 13 to 16 inch rims, starting at 155/65R13. The FH888 is the performance pattern, in W and Y speed ratings from 16 to 20 inch, up to 315/35R20.
SUV and 4x4. The Sapphire FH18 is a summer road pattern for SUVs. Sizes run from 235/60R16 and 265/70R16 up to 22 inch fitments such as 285/40R22 and 325/35R22.
Winter. The SilverSnow F9 is a winter pattern listed with the 3PMSF symbol. It is offered from 15 to 21 inch rims, with sizes such as 195/65R15 and 205/55R16.

The EU product database names Dongying Fangxing Rubber as supplier and Dutch Bridge International B.V. as authorised representative. The FH888 in 245/40ZR19 is graded C for fuel, B for wet grip and 74 dB. The FH666 in 175/60R14 is graded C, C and 70 dB.
Opals is stocked by retailers in the United Kingdom and New Zealand. Fangxing told Tyrepress in 2024 that about 30 per cent of its revenue came from foreign trade, mainly South East Asia. It expected more sales in the Middle East and Europe once the extra capacity is running.
Opals tyres are built at Fangxing's single site in Dawang Town, Guangrao County, the same factory that makes Himalaya, Glede and Naaats. No Opals production outside China was found.
