Shengtai Group describes itself as founded in the 1980s in Guangrao county, an area of Dongying it calls China's No. 1 Tires Village. Its automated passenger car tyre factory was incorporated on 14 April 2002, the date Tyrepress uses as the group's founding year. A subsidiary, Shandong Shengshi Tailai Rubber Technology Co., Ltd, is also named in the group profile.
