The owner of the Tornado name is a Guiyang tyre maker founded in 1958 and floated in Shenzhen in 1996 under stock code 000589. China Daily reports that it ranked eighth on the China Rubber Industry Association list for 2021. It employs more than 7,000 people, about 1,000 of them technical staff.
Production moved from the old city plant to a 2,300 mu site at Zhazuo, north of Guiyang, after a groundbreaking in February 2011. The group also built a 444 mu factory in Vietnam. Tornado was registered a year after the Jingang and Chinhoo marks of 2000 and before Samson in 2004.
Truck and bus (TBR). The manufacturer lists Tornado only for truck series tyres. Its 2016 Speed series is a tubeless line in 12R22.5 with an 18 ply rating. It is promoted for resistance to wear and irregular wear and for low noise.
